Joanne/Gigi, you will always hold such a special place in my heart. I think back to almost six years ago when i first met Joanne at North 44 in Toronto. My first impression was glamour...such a beautiful, elegant lady with a great sense of humour. Our next meeting was in Vail on a family ski trip..Joanne extended an invitation to me to join the family. Such a wonderful trip even though Joanne was feeling under the weather. This trip gave me the first glimpse of the Joanne that I really loved, and where our 'connection' was established. Beneath her beauty and glamour was a soft, beautiful and caring soul. A true mother and wonderful mother in law. Spending any time with Joanne was so special to me. We would chat on my long commutes home to update each other on what was going on in our lives. Even though Joanne was suffering unimaginable pain, our conversations were always about the kids, Kara, my family and life. Her stories and experiences were always such a pleasure to listen to. Joanne's thoughtfulness was such a trademark of hers. She always thought about everyone and her generosity was second to none. Joanne welcomed my entire family into her life and always inquired about them. Her famous knitting even made it's way to my brother's kids in Nelson, BC. My last trip down to Sarasota was a special one. Joanne and I spent a wonderful week together, playing scrabble (which she was unbeatable I have to say..), talking about her childhood, planting flowers and watching movies...what a wonderful memory to have. Joanne, you will always be in my heart and mind. I am so lucky to have been part of your life and i will continue our relationship through Kara and the kids. Thank you for being you. Love Yuri xoxo
