I have such fond memories during the time that I knew Joanne (Gigi). She welcomed me into her home and family and the times that Megan & I spent in Sarasota were simply "first class". I was always amazed at Joanne's kind and caring way about her, giving voice to her thoughts and guidance in such a soft and eloquent manner. Joanne was such a kind Aunt to my wife Megan and their bond over the years was very special. Everytime I see the blankets (matmats) that Megan knitted for Paige, Taylor and Claire I am reminded of Joanne. She had a gift for creating exceptional clothing that would rival any designer fashions you would see in children's boutique stores. Whether we were enjoying a meal at Ophelia's or chatting on the leather couch in her family room I will never forget the contagious laugh and joyful spirit that radiated from her. Joanne loved her family and the joy that her children and grandchildren brought into her life. She was so proud of each one of them and spoke so highly about the paths that they had chosen in life. We can all take a lesson from Joanne, as living in such a tremendous amount of pain could drive an individual to a life of anger and resentment. However, Joanne never lived life this way. She was a strong woman who loved unconditionally and truly made an impact on our lives. Rest in peace Joanne, we wil miss you however I know that you are in a better place now. Andrew Shaw
